Obituary for Connie B. Lipman
Connie B. Lipman of Rye Brook, passed away peacefully on January 29 in Greenwich Hospital at 82 years old. She was born in Port Chester NY, the daughter of Herman Barron and Leah Miller Smith. She was a graduate of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie and worked as a credit manager for various companies. She was an avid traveler and went on many cruises to all areas of the world with her long time companion Elliot Grosswirth. In her later years she enjoyed activities at the Rye Brook Senior Center, and was an active member in the Rye Red Hatters Society. She also enjoyed painting with watercolors, making jewelry and taking care of her Quaker Parrot, Tikki. She is survived by her long time companion, Elliot Grosswirth of Dobbs Ferry, NY, two daughters, Stacey Durand and her husband, Jeffrey of Redwood, NY, and Lori Lipman and her companion Brian Gompers of White Plains, NY. She is also survived by her brother Samuel Smith and his wife Donna of Katonah, NY and a niece, Jamie Wagner and a nephew Roger Smith. She was predeceased by a younger sister, Genie Abels of Rye Brook. A funeral will be held at Zion Memorial Chapel at 785 E. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY on Wednesday February 1 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Best Friends Animal Society.
