Our beloved mother and grandmother Connie Cantor passed away at The New Jewish Home in New York City. She was 88 years old. Connie was the daughter of Annette and David Davis, who were founding members of Temple Beth El on City Island, NY. Connie was a longtime resident of City Island and well known by all who knew her as a kind, friendly and helpful presence in the neighborhood. She was a homemaker most of her life and taught Hebrew School at the temple for many years. She enjoyed gardening, music, art, reading and traveling. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Herman “Hy” Cantor in 2005. Survivors include her children Susan Cantor-Diaz (Sam) and Michael Cantor (Valerie), grandchildren Rachel, David and Leah Cantor and Joshua Diaz. Donations in her memory may be made to Temple Beth El of City Island.
