Obituary for Fayga H. Gordon
Fayga Halpern Gordon of St. Paul, MN, formerly of New York, passed away on March 9, 2018 at the age of 98 1/2. She lived a strong, independent, feisty life and inspired everyone who was lucky enough to know her. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Harry H. Gordon, her son Charles C. Gordon, parents Rabbi Abraham E. and Bessie Halpern, sister and brother in law Laeh and Rabbi Bernard S. Raskas, brother and sister in law Rabbi Mordecai S. Halpern and Natalie Halpern Eichen and nephew Hillel Raskas. Survived by daughter Debby Gordon Evans, grandson Josh Evans and wife Rachel Zieleniec. And by nieces and nephews Eve Raskas Kafitz and Steve Kafitz, David Raskas and Milo Mortenson, Rani Halpern and Joel Green, Dan Halpern and Wendy Goldberg, Jon Halpern and Gretchen Young. Funeral will take place at Bet Am Shalom Synagogue, 295 Soundview Ave, White Plains NY 10606, on Monday, March 12 at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. The family will observe Shiva in White Plains, NY on Monday, March 12 and Tuesday, March 13, and in the evening of Thursday, March 15 at the home of Debby Gordon Evans in Minnesota. Memorial donations may be made to Bet Am Shalom: cc Harry and Fayga Gordon Fund (295 Soundview Avenue White Plains, NY 10606) or to Beth Jacob Congregation (1179 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55119).
