Obituary for Harold Lehrer
Harold Lehrer, 92, of Port Chester, NY, passed away peacefully on
April 2nd in New Rochelle, NY, at the United Hebrew Nursing Home, surrounded by his family. Harold was born in New York City, the son of Murray and Celia Lehrer. He is predeceased by his older brother Jack Lehrer. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Helen Lehrer, and his three children Penny, Brad and Neal, his two grandchildren Rachel and Miriam, and his five nieces Carol, Susie, Marjorie, Sheila and Patte. He grew up in Harrison, NY and in 1943 during WWII he was inducted into the U.S. Army. He landed at Normandy during the invasion of France, and served valiantly in Europe until victory in 1945. Harold and Helen were married in 1947 and lived and remained in Port Chester, NY until the present. They had three children and were lifelong members of the KTI Synagogue. Harold was a lithographer and supervisor for Pioneer Moss. When he was 72 he reinvented himself as a successful Realtor, which he pursued for the next 8 years until his retirement. He was an avid golfer, but his greatest love was his family. He was active in the Boy Scouts and served as a Troop Leader. Funeral services will be held on April 5th at 2pm at KTI, 575 King St., Port Chester. Burial to follow at Riversville Cemetery at end of Memory Lane in Greenwich, CT Shiva at 18 Linden St., Port Chester April 6th and 7th 1-5pm
