Irvin Choron, of Rye, NY, passed away on Sunday at the age of 86. His beloved wife, Lee of 63 years, was at his side. Also by his side were his two sons, Greg and Doug; his daughter-in-law, Eileen; and his granddaughters, Rachel, Deborah, and Rebecca. Irvin was a Holocaust survivor, a devoted husband, an exemplary father, a lovable grandfather, and a remarkable human being. He was born on 2-23-1928 in Lithuania to Boris and Bertha Choron. After being liberated following WWII, he eventually settled in Rye where he and Lee raised their sons. Irv was proud to become an American citizen and worked hard to achieve the American dream. After owning a general store in Pelham for many years, Irv enjoyed long days of fishing on the beach in Montauk with his family. His surviving family will forever be inspired by his legacy.
