Obituary for Jesse Jacob Seligson
SELIGSON, JESSE J. 92, resident of Mamaroneck, NY died peacefully on August 25 at White Plains Hospital. He had an illustrious career in the shipping and freight forwarding industry, where he worked after a stint in the army/ air force’s WW II China-India-Burma campaign. His first job was at American Union Transport Forwarding Inc. after which he worked at Zim Container Line Service, retiring in 1993 as Vice President of Import Sales. He served 3 terms as President of Sinai Temple, Mount Vernon, NY. Jesse was married for 54 years to Esther (nee Drewnowitz) who died in 2003. He is survived by daughter Linda F. Seligson (Giacomo), her children Matthew & Rene Zweig, Sara & Jared Grubel; daughter Susan McMenamin (Brian) and their children Zachary and Samuel, and his 4 great-grandchildren Ethan, Julia, Ayden, Leah; Nancy Gladstone, his loving companion of 10 years – all of whom he adored. Jesse loved classical music and opera and was a prolific amateur painter. He will be missed by his many friends and family. Funeral on Sunday, August 28, 11 AM, Woodlands Community Temple, 50 Worthington Road, White Plains.
