Obituary for Marilyn Merker Goldman
Goldman, Marilyn Merker died April 8, 2019 in Wauwatosa, WI, born June 29, 1954 in West Lafayette, IN. Marilyn was raised in Rye, NY and graduated from Rye High School. She held a BA from Barnard College and Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Yale University. She moved to Milw. in 1990 to become a professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, a position she held for 25 years before taking title of emeritus. Marilyn was a dedicated scientist with a profound interest in the natural world. She was a long-time resident of Whitefish Bay, noted for her warmth, openness and compassion to all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Robert; a son, Daniel Goldman of Baltimore; a daughter Rebecca (Leo Dreyfuss) Goldman of Milw; a brother, Edward (Elaine) Merker of Somers, NY and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Funeral service, April 11 at 1:00 PM at Bet Am Shalom, 295 Soundview Ave., White Plains. Burial will follow at Sharon Gardens, Valhalla, NY, alongside her parents, Philip and Alta Merker. For details regarding shiva, please contact the funeral home. Memorial contributions to Planned Parenthood of WI or the Sojourner Family Peace Center, Milwaukee, WI, appreciated.
