Seymour Mark of New Rochelle died September 24, 2014 after a brief illness. He was 96 years old. Cy was born in New York to Aaron and Dora Mark. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beatrice, of New Rochelle, three sons, Robert of Ridgefield, CT, Steven of New York and Michael of Athens, OH, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Cy was attending George Washington University when World War II began. He enlisted in the Army, was assigned to the Counter Intelligence Corps. and served in Panama. Following the war, he finished college at the University of Michigan. Cy moved his family from the Bronx to New Rochelle and built a successful insurance business, Cy was much loved by his family, friends and customers, read all the time, struggled over the Sunday Crossword and made us laugh with his dry sense of humor. Well dearly miss him. Funeral services will be at Temple Israel, 1000 Pinebrook Blvd., New Rochelle, NY on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11:30 AM. Internment will follow at Sharon Gardens, Valhalla, NY. Donations in memory of Seymour "Cy" Mark may be made to Camphill Village Box 1045 Pughtown Road Kimberton, PA 19442. Everyone is invited to Bea's house following the service for Shiva. Shiva will start at 3:30pm on Friday.
